Most Hampshire Explorer events let young people sign up independently, and Chaos Camp is no different. Even if your unit or group isn’t attending, you won’t miss out — you can still come along and be part of the adventure.
We’ll have Explorers from all 19 Hampshire Scouts districts. Some will arrive not knowing anyone, others will come with a few familiar faces. Either way, you’ll be placed into teams with people of a similar age from your local area, giving you the perfect chance to meet new friends, settle in quickly, and take on the weekend together.
If you already have friends in other groups, you can sign up with them too. Chaos Camp is built so everyone feels included, supported, and part of something big — whether you come with a group or fly solo.
At Chaos Camp, every group will have a dedicated leader assigned to them for the entire weekend. They’ll check in regularly, make sure everyone is equipped, and support the young people as they move through the programme.
Alongside this, we have a central leadership team available throughout the event to help with anything that comes up — whether it’s a practical issue, a welfare concern, or just someone needing a bit of guidance.
If you’d like to find out more or have any questions, please get in touch at chaoscamp@hampshirescouts.org.uk.
Scouts and Explorers will have separate accommodation throughout Chaos Camp. Explorers can choose either to bring their own tents and camp outside or to stay in indoor accommodation. Scouts must sleep indoors.
All indoor accommodation will be organised by both age and gender. After signing up, you’ll be able to search for friends and request to share a room and be placed in the same team. We aim to keep friends together wherever possible while still ensuring everyone is safe, comfortable, and appropriately grouped.
